another pro tip is when you knock a sharp knife off the counter DON'T catch it
Veg on a red chopping board tho, that's amature
or you can keep your hand at a distance on the onion and place the cuts evenly, the technique he is teaching is just for show.
I wonder how many onions a professional cook cuts up during their career, and whether it's in the tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands
Rest in peace, Anthony. You will be missed
I love him, but not a great lesson. Doesn't even explain how to grab the knife. It's a bit dull also, you can see that.
Honestly his demonstration was horrible and dice looked terrible
I miss this guy like he was my brother. Don’t know why--but I do.
A National Treasure. Thomas Keller.
Fighting for his life with how blunt that knife was 🤣
god i miss this guy
He had great knot skills
Slap chop is better sorry tony RIP
I miss this man so much
Great mood. You could easily score a film with this.
Thanks!
Lovely sounds & sights!
Thanks!
How did hid death happen?
He hung himself.
I miss this dude.
What a fricking legend he was man. Rest in piece. Love him.
I only ever saw pictures of him so I always thought he was British
man i miss this dude
Once I realized hiw easy it was to cut my thumb, I looked upnthe proper way to cut stuff. Garlic was especially useful, i dont want garlic chunks, I want garlic mush.
I miss this guy.
I heard his rope skills are to die for.
Excellent! Now let’s see his rope skills
Very rude
I'm not denying I'm an idiot, but I've grown to accept that that over the years. For me the extra pain comes from the onion juice in the cut. YOW!
That's cool. Remember when this piece of shit harassed a SA victim because his girlfriend was the abuser? Good riddance, Tony.
Pity he was such a whites hating junkie lowlife
Ok jesus. 😶
@@user-hf8ie8mf3n ok racist lowlife
“This is how you use a knife!” *commits sepeku*
Tool advice is important. There is similar advice for mechanics; given a choice, do not ever pull on a large spanner. Your teeth will come out.
What a f****t to kill himself with a daughter depending on him ....he was never worth the life he had 😂
no such thing as cheap onions or cheap turnips nowadays
Ted bundy was better
Not all battles are won, but he showed great effort and really participated in an admirable way. He inspires me.
Sorry AB, great cooks don’t make great mathematicians. That’s 90 deg, not 45.
The onion would cry the way it got cut
I had a buddy who cut like halfway into his thumb, right through the nail. It was gruesome.
Isn’t he holding his hand on the onion at 90 degrees to the knife. Swear he said 45
Knife skills, not even fast, is the #1 thing to learn when starting to cook. Period.
Talk about serious damge
Buy a bunch of cheap onions rip
I miss you Anthony Bourdain
Jacque Pepin will show you knife skills.
grand seiko gmt?
im not impressed :/
Oh my hero, where did you go.
If you practice practice practice you too can have the crap job of working in a commercial kitchen 18 hours a day.
yeah but WHY IS THE CUTTING BOARD RED? IT SHOULD BE GREEN
But Adam Ragusea told me I don't need knife skills and that the claw grip is only for professional chefs. But Bourdain seems to be implying *anyone* can dice an onion with the claw grip. I'm so confused.
This is just him cutting an onion
